The ImagiNation Network Revival

For those of you old enough to remember the pre-internets days, the good folks over at Abandonia have revived the ImagiNation Network and are hosting it for free!

For likely the majority of you that don’t remember it or weren’t even old enough to Computer back around 1992, it was a subscription service that ran during the AOL/Compuserve/Prodigy days that was basically for socializing, chatting and playing a bunch of different games online with other people. Initially it was just the Clubhouse, which was a bunch of card and board games akin to Sierra’s Hoyles Book of Games, but during the few years it was alive they gradually added a big MMORPG called Shadow of Yserbius, the ability to play Red Baron and Front Page Sports Football online through their servers, 3D Golf, and a bunch of other stuff.

I haven’t tried it out but you can visit their forum to get it set up and I guess coordinate with other people to go online, though it seems like few people are using it at the moment. Just by the forum it sounds like the Clubhouse and Shadow of Yserbius are working … not sure about Larry’s Casino or anything else.

Now where’s the The Realm Online revival, where you don’t get stuck waiting outside of your house for 20 minutes for traffic to clear? 🙂
