Steam be thuggin’

I like Steam, I enjoy Steam, I use it frequently. But this sort of thing is the reason why I will never ever ever pay full retail for something that mandates I use Steam to run it.

I look at Steam as a very-long-term rental service. I buy year+ old games on it for 10 bucks or less, assuming that at some unspecified point in the future I could completely lose access to them due to Valve failure or just some privacy-invading terms that I won’t consent to. I’m fine with gambling like that on a super-deep discount, but on a $50 purchase? No goddamn way.
